A Federal High Court, sitting in Abuja, has fixed March 24 for the ruling in the applications brought by a litigant seeking to disqualify the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), General Muhammadu Buhari over his school certificate.
Chukwunweike Okafor had on January 26, filed an application for court
to declare that Buhari lacked the educational qualification to stand
for the presidential election, having failed to attach same in his form
with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
At the resumed hearing of the suit yesterday, counsel to Buhari, Wole Olanipekun (SAN) brought an application challenging the mode of service of the originating processes on the presidential candidate.
Also defence counsel, Lateef Fagbemi (SAN) and Hassan Liman (SAN) both challenged the jurisdiction of the court to entertain the matter.
